v0.21.1 — saves across devices, and a home of our own
The site. This page, the world plates, the audiobook and the press kit now live at one address we own. Platforms rent you their audience and forbid the links between them; this is the one place every channel can point to, and the one place that can take your email for the newsletter. The game itself is served from here too: play, no account, no install.
Saves follow you. Play on a PC, open Settings → Other devices → Show code, and on your phone choose Enter code: the phone continues the same progress. After your first save the Base shows your code once, with a Copy button. Keep it. If a browser ever clears the game's storage, a fresh start shows "Have a code? Restore progress" under the play card.
v0.21.0, two days earlier, was the new look. Every unit redrawn: your helicopter, the squad of tanks, mechs, mortars, escort helis and drones, the reptiloid gunners, crawlers, flyers, platforms, the armoured train and the Khraster warrior. Enemies move like creatures and are hit by their real shape. A new Title screen, a new Base with six buildings and your units parked in them, new ground for the desert, the wild west and winter. The bosses, the Pyramid and the Ghost, are redrawn and no longer follow a clock: break their pods, then the core, and shoot down the homing missiles that come back for a second pass.
What is next. Reddit: Active Strike runs inside Reddit as an app, and the next release there adds a leaderboard, a Daily Strike and wave-rank flairs. Here: the audiobook chapters go up with their text, then the first gameplay clip. If something is broken, the subreddit's bug thread is read every day.
